许鞍华导演大学念文学时主修诗歌，感其解忧纾困，于是便一偿多年心愿，好好拍下香港的诗文风景。 电影主要分为三个部分，第一部分是记录许鞍华导演亲自拜访多位香港诗人好友，如淮远、饮江、邓阿蓝、马若等会友论诗；并借用资料影像及照片，追怀已然离逝的西西和也斯。而整部电影的重点就落在第二部分已移居深圳，性格自由率性的诗人黄灿然及第三部分在台湾忙于讲学兼顾家庭，积极入世的诗人廖伟棠。香港诗或香港诗人宛如边缘的小草，在生活压迫挣扎的同时，展现出顽强的生命力。。The story is set in the 1930s, somewhere in the mountains in Romania. It centres on Simion, a ranger who lives like a hermit in the middle of the forest. One day, he stumbles upon a beaten-up woman, Irina, and tries to find out who has hurt her. He also tries to stay away from her but fails.。The city of Thebes has come under the cruel domination of Sparta. Diomedes and several of his friends strive to throw off the Spartan yoke even while Diomedes romances Dorida, daughter of the Theban governor who's collaborating with Sparta.。
