牧扬与梦桐从各自的家乡来到北京追逐梦想，两人相识后惺惺相惜、患难与共。梦桐患有脑外伤后遗症，病情的加重导致与牧扬惜别。梦桐回到家乡嫁给了与己青梅竹马的子寒。梦桐与子寒为牧扬苦心经营的项目注入了资本。。Speedy" loses his job as a soda-jerk, then spends the day with his girl at Coney Island. He then becomes a cab driver and delivers Babe Ruth to Yankee Stadium, where he stays to see the game. When the railroad tries to run the last horse-drawn trolley (operated by his girl's grandfather) out of business, "Speedy" organizes the neighborhood oldtimers to thwart their scheme.。
